A question about : Old workwear

I left my previous employer about 4 or 5 months ago. I still have some logo'd sweatshirts which we were required to wear as part of their uniform.

The company have never asked for them back and previous employees never returned them. I was verbally told 'keep them' when I left and I honestly can't see anyone else wanting to wear them.

I don't want them. Do you think it's OK to donate them to charity? At what point do unclaimed goods become mine?

A question about : Really need some advice

Five years ago I was on JSA and took out two small crisis loans totalling Ј82.20. They never took the money from my benefits, and when I called the DWP to pay it off when I started work, they said they couldn't locate the loans.

December just gone, a deduction of earnings order was applied to my pay from DWP, for the full Ј82.20. Apparently they had my old address so I wasn't receiving their letters. Either way I was fine with this. I spoke to DWP who advised it was the one payment and that was it.

I am on job seekers and have been for a few months, went to sign on yesterday and the woman I see did not seem to much and told me some changes can people on job seekers confirm that we now have to sign on every week and not fortnightly, and she also said we don't need to fill out the job record sheets now as they have to go in the booklet but this seems strange and there's not much room to write anything lol as I said she was clueless

A question about : Holiday Entitlement

Hi

I have recently dropped from working 5 days a week to 4 days per week and am curious about my holiday entitlement.

I was allowed 30 days and bank holidays as extra days so am now entitled to 24 - quite logical! However, I'm not sure what I am entitled to regarding bank holidays. I no longer work on a Monday so should I be getting extra holidays pro rata to allow for the bank holidays that fall on a Monday?

I want to be informed before I go to work and ask about it!

A question about : Asking for a payrise...

I have been working there for 2.5 years.

I currently manage the IT in the office (1st line support). I also design and develop their websites.

And I manage their online web app for clients.

My salary atm is Ј18,500. I am really not happy with it at all. I've been feeling this way for a long time.

I've had a look online at average salaries and even 1st line support is at Ј24,000.

Web design and develop are around Ј26k, and IT manager is up near Ј45k.
