The Future

A question about : The Future

Imagine the situation. For the first time since 1966, England and Germany are on the field playing for the World Cup. Its 1/1 at half time , and millions of energy customers dash out to put the kettle on. Before doing so, they check their SMART meter Household Information Display (HID) and find that their constantly variable tariff has doubled from 14p/kWh to 28p/kWh. Thirty minutes later, the tariff has dropped to 7p/kWh to reflect the low demand on the Grid. Could it happen?

A question about : Got a question for Gov't energy and climate change secretary, Ed Davey?

Hi all,

Next Wed 4 March, Ed Davey, the Secretary of State for energy and climate change is coming to MSE Towers to make a policy speech and announcement, and be questioned by us, other press and energy industry campaigners.

As part of that we have arranged that some MoneySaver's questions can be put to him (as chosen by us, don't worry this won't be soft soap).

Energy Bill Calcs

A question about : Energy Bill Calcs

Long story short N-power bill saga meant i didnt get a bill for 13 months then when it landed it seemed way to high, exec complaints arranged testing of meter, meter was not registering any use at all as screen was blank so they couldnt test for accuracy.

Meter replaced N-Power refuse to rebill the account as the meter was apparently displaying something up until september. They have agreed to rebill the account from september to now which i dont accept. All detailed in this thread

Being billed by wrong supplier after moving home

A question about : Being billed by wrong supplier after moving home

Hi,

I recently had a bunch of mail forwarded to me by the occupant of the house I was previously living in that included a number of npower gas bills who as far as I was aware never supplied gas to my property. Here is the timeline of events :

July2013 : I was a customer of both gas and elec from Scottish Power and decided to switch to npower for both.

August 2013 : I received notification that my switch was in progress and that my ELEC will be switch over on the 9th Sept 2013

Am I paying too much ?

A question about : Am I paying too much ?

Hi,

For while I've thought we've been paying a lot on our gas meter. I rang EON today and they said we are using about Ј7 a day so nearly Ј50 a week!! That seems an awful lot to me. We live In a small 2 bed semi. Granted we have heating on a lot due to it being an older house it does get quite cold when it isn't on.. But still. After talking to some friends who live in bigger houses with similar heating usage it seems the norm is about Ј50 a month, not week.

best gas/electric supplier for empty house

A question about : best gas/electric supplier for empty house

I'm moving out of my house and into a new home and I'll be switching supplier at the new house.

I'll still be responsible for the old house utilities until we have sold the property. Can anyone help with the best provider with no standing or daily supply charges - so I'm only paying for the electrity / Gas that I'm using (to heat the house an hour before viewings, turn on lights etc for viewings)?

many thanks in advance.
