A question about : Advise needed: Probable manipulation

I'm in a odd situation & trying to figure out what to make of it.

A question about : Two weeks in hand/arrears

I have recently finished with a company that pays on a two weeks in hand two weeks in arrears basis.

we were paid on the 15th of each month.

I started work on the 20th of a month, and finished on the 29th of a month many years later.

Should I have been paid for the last two weeks of my employment? Ie from the 15th (when paid) to the 29th when my contract ended? Or does this fall into the in hand/arrears bracket?

If you can provide any evidence or links it would be great

A question about : Hard of Hearing

HR / law expertise required

I am hard of hearing but work in an office as a manager.

My hearing is gradually deteriorating and as a result I am now not able to use the telephone effectively as I struggle with clarity.

I still feel I can do my job but 'the old-fashioned' way of face to face communications which can be problematic in this day and age with teleconferencing and video conferencing

I shall be speaking to my employer about this (HR) and the fact my disability is now preventing me to use the telephone.

new manager new ideas
WE used to have a sick year that ran from April to end March the new manager has decided that we will have a rolling sick leave policy now obviously they have brought this in with no staff consultation and it will be started from your last period of sickness not starting afresh with new rules from April
can they do this?

A question about : IT Contracting on Weekends/Evenings?

I'm 23 yrs old, I'm currently an IT Systems Administrator at a small Charity in Central London, I work 9-5/5 days a week.

I think I'd make a great Sales Advisor at somewhere like Currys/PC World but haven't had any luck trying to get in as probably my hours of only being available after 5pm on weekdays and weekends is too limited?

Hi need some help with gross misconduct at work over not sitting down when being spoken to by management??
Have just been suspended from work following investigation from hr. for not sitting on a chair after 10 hours driving job.

A question about : is trade union membership worth it?

I am a member of a trade union: Unison. I joined about five years ago. I pay about 20 pounds per month. On that basis I have paid about 1200 pounds.

I don't really see the benefit of being a member. I guess that could change if times ever become hard.

I am interested to hear from others who are members of a trade union and how you get value for money.
