Probation period

A question about : Probation period

Hi all

I started a new job on December 28th last year on a 6 month probationary period. In May I started a new job role within the company which reset the 6 month clock. 7 Months later I am still on the probation period as I may not be good enough to be taken on 'full time', so it keeps getting extended. Now, obviously I have been there 12 months in 3 weeks. Where do I stand (if anywhere) with this, in regards to rights?

Many thanks in advance

A question about : Underpaid after raise, advice very much wanted and appreciated

    Hello there,

I've already made a post regarding my situation, which had some almost immediate response, but I'd love to get an experts advice (offical expert/advice, no offense anyone).

I cannot post links unfortunately, so I've quoted my original post. I have another thread with the exact same name if you want to have a look. It's under employment training and jobseeking.

No pay during redundancy notice period

A question about : No pay during redundancy notice period

    Hi,
I have been working as a joiner in a small firm for around 8 years. We have been struggling with work for a while and been put on short time, on and off for a couple of years.
More recently, after another short time period I have been laid off for 3 weeks and been told I will be made redundant. I went to a meeting today and was told my notice period would be 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off, with the weeks on, being short time.

    Hi

2004 - One of my staff (under another line manager) underwent a payment review and was put on a new structure along with the rest of the organisation

2008 - This staff member received an Ј8k back pay cheque as she had been put on the wrong pay band due to a change in her role. However, her pay point was frozen at Ј33k when it shouldn't have been. She raised this with her manager and payroll

Current Employer Requesting Details of Termination from 2nd job

A question about : Current Employer Requesting Details of Termination from 2nd job

My Step father had 2 jobs up to last month, they were both working for 3 days a week. He got fired from one, because he forgot to wear his ear protectors (hardly anyone wore them so it was too easy for him to also not wear them). He mentioned this to the employer at his other job and they have asked him to provide written details, meetings minutes, letter of dismissal etc.. does he have to provide them? and what if any, could the potential consequences be if he does? or if he refuses?

    No rest breaks

A question about : No rest breaks

I am currently working part-time hours for a well known retailer during the christmas period.

Xmas temp staff are allocated 6 hour shifts without a break, which is legal. My shifts are normally allocated from 3pm to 9pm (which is closing time).

The problem is that realistically I always end up working longer than 6 hours at a time (usually an extra 15 minutes but in some cases 30 minutes).
