A question about : Annual leave miscalculated for 30 years

Hi
I recently looked at going part-time and found (not surprisingly) that Annual Leave would be calculated pro-rata according to my hours. However at the moment I work 43 hours (compared to the organisational norm of 37) and discovered that my current 33 days A/L is the same as everyone who is on 37 hours whereas it should also be worked out pro-rata (c.38 days). This figure has now been confirmed in writing.

A question about : Pay rise to be paid as bonus each year

Hello
My employer has been promising a review for a while now, and today I received a letter saying that my salary has been increased. BUT the extra money will be paid at the end of each year as a lump sum, providing, of course, I still work there.
I do appreciate the extra money but this has annoyed me a little. It means if I leave before December, I wouldn't get it, so it's not really a salary increase is it?!

A question about : Waiters and other restaurant staff: spill the beans

We want to tap the collective knowledge of past and present waiters and restaurant staff and get some inside info on service charges and how they are passed on to workers. Does/did your employer tack a service charge on to the bill and do/did you get a share/all of it? If not and customers gave cash or card tips, how were they split between you and the other staff?

I was wondering if someone could help or advise me as I feel I am taking this personally rather than professionally.

At what point does overtime become a change to contracted hours?

I am currently employed to work 9/5 5 days a week (and on the contract this states Mon-Fri).

Obviously the contract also states that overtime may be required and will be paid back with time in lieu.

Hi,
I'd really appreciate some advice / guidance please as I'm totally confused and at a loss of what to do / where to go for advice.
I've been on long term sick for several years and 3 months ago, I was formally called in for an official meeting to discuss options including dismissal on grounds of capability - I totally understand why my employer needs to do this as all medical reports have agreed that my health issues will not resolve and I will never be able to return to work.
