A question about : Cifas

A friend of mine has been getting a few surprise declines for current accounts recently after normally being accepted with no problems. These came after one bank decided to close his accounts down. He has checked his credit file with CallCredit and Noddle and there are no CIFAS warnings shown. I was just wondering if it is possible to have a CIFAS warning regsitered on just one CRA or would it show on them all?

A question about : Joint current account income requirements

My girlfriend and I are going to take out a joint current account for our first home - mortgage payment, bills, food etc...

I've been looking a lot at santander 123 and it seems the best option with the cash back and interest earned (we will keep Ј5k as a float always in there).

A question about : Yorskhire Bank Switch

So, for those that have switched already - how long did it take from initial call to getting the account up and running?

(And does it take much longer before the balance of your old account is switched to your YB account - assuming that you asked for the switch to take place ASAP, rather than some fixed date in the future?)

I have trawled through some of the main YB/CB thread but its of epic proportions now so figured it might be best to ask in a separate thread.

How much do Barclays cash cards pre-auth for pay at pump? Morrisons if it make any difference...

It says Max GBP 100 on the screen, but I've had more than that available and it decline before - then it's approved on other occasions with only say 40 quid in the account???

A question about : Santander incompetence

Ok, so I know they are not exactly the best run bank, but this is just ridiculous.
I have owned my house for just over 6 years.
Every company that sent letters to the previous owner eventually stopped after letters were returned as not known at this address.....except for Santander.
They have continued to send post ever since.
I have no means of contacting the previous owner.

A question about : How to transfer one direct debit

Maybe I'm not thinking clearly here, but before I get involved in expensive telephone calls to query this, can anyone explain the following:

I want to transfer my National Lottery direct debit from one of my current accounts to another. I'm not opening a new bank account, or switching my account - just moving one direct debit.

Lottery website says 'contact your bank'. I e-mailed to query and received reply to contact my bank to arrange this. Surely this is done by the company involved, not the bank?

A question about : Switching The One account to Halifax

Has anyone had any problems with Halifax saying that you won't get Ј125 to switch as the one account won't change this account to a standard bank account. the one account say that Halifax have to do a partial switch and then they will do the other bit. Can't see anything in Halifax's t&c so think I should still get the Ј125.
Any comments would be great.
