A question about : Hooray! A full account!

At last, I've managed to get a normal account with Maestro card. Guess who obliged?

Natwest!

I was given a Current Plus account with Servicecard 100, which is a Maestro debit and Ј100 cheque guarantee. They even offered me Ј1000 overdraft (which of course I turned down).

Thank you very much Natwest, I'll now be able to tell Halifax where to go with their Electron and lack of any kind of "customer care".

A question about : Don't let the Banks rip you off

For those who have Barclays Additions or Barclays addition Plus tagged on to your account. Today I have realised that most of the items they offer are standard with the Current account at no charge, or you can get the same free with other companies. In my case I have just cancelled and saved Ј90.00 a year or more with the Additions Plus.

A question about : Treasurers' accounts

I am the treasurer for a club. We have Ј1600 in our only account (Nationwide) earning very little interest.
I would like us to have a cheque account and a higher interest account, preferably with the same bank to make my life easier. Which is the best bank or building society to offer me these facilities as a club treasurer please?

A question about : First Direct more free money

First Direct (FD) have sent me three postcards to pass onto friends.

All I have to do is put my postcode on the card. If the friend opens an account and has a credit balance before 31 March 2005, they will pay the friend Ј25.00 and me Ј25.00 within 6 weeks. If all three are successfull, then FD will have to pay out Ј150.00 in total!

If your current a/c is overdrawn by Ј1000 and you're paying interest on that OD, I'd pay it into the CA first. There's little point paying off the credit card debt during the 0% period.
