First Direct (FD) have sent me three postcards to pass onto friends.

All I have to do is put my postcode on the card. If the friend opens an account and has a credit balance before 31 March 2005, they will pay the friend Ј25.00 and me Ј25.00 within 6 weeks. If all three are successfull, then FD will have to pay out Ј150.00 in total!

I only openned the account to get the Ј25.00 incentive, and do not use it. I spoke to FD to clarify the postcode issue, and they advised that the incentive will still be paid even if the new applicant is at the same address.

I you have a first direct account look out for the familiar black FD envelope. the only restriction is that the applicant cannot have previously held a FD account before.
