can anyone explain why with energy prices falling drastically, lpg prices remain at the same high level

A question about : Solar Panel Costs of Running & Installation

I keep getting phone calls to say I can get free up front cost of solar panels but I am sure I was told some time ago that it takes 7 yrs to get back the cost of these solar panels.

Has anyone been approached to have these installed and if so do they know if they are worth having installed if like us you are in your 60's and retired so obviously have higher energy costs than say someone out at work?

A question about : E-on changing DD Date for final bill

Hello,

I received a final bill as I am leaving E-On based on an estimated figure dated 30th December, which would have been delayed by new year etc.

They didn't take any payment on the 1st January which was the agreed date for the direct debit amount of Ј40.

The next thing I know a payment on the 15th has bounced from my account due to insufficient funds for Ј49.33p.

A question about : Leaving Scottish Power (or trying to!)

We have been in the process of moving from Scottish Power.

EDF have confirmed that the accounts have been moved at the end of Oct 14. Our Scottish power account online is showing as live and they are still taking meter readings! Have tried emailing and phoning and they just make excuses saying they are looking into it.

Has anyone else had this problem?

I have a D&G boiler cover policy coming up for renewal. My boiler is getting a little long in the tooth, and am wondering if anyone has experience of what happens when they decide a boiler is not economical to repair.

I know there are a lot of pitfalls with insurers such as only offering Ј200, or forcing you to use their installer.

A question about : Titan Oil Tank Warranty

Hi all,

I own a property of which I inherited an infamous Titan tank which cracked at the top just before Xmas. I called Kingspan (Titan) and they told me it was covered under warranty but that that didn't include installation and referred me to one of their installation partners who quoted approx. Ј1200 to do the install. I managed to find an independent OFTEC registered tech who will do it for half the price and so far I have only had to pay Titan Ј70 for delivery only.

A question about : Biomass Boilers Government Scheme

Has anyone recently had fitted or been quoted for the Biomsss boilers through the government RHI incentive which started in May?
They came to our house and said it wasn't worth doing as our electricity costs were already low, so I asked them to visit my mum's house where they did a quote. The boiler is 18k, she would make a saving and it worked out she'd get approx Ј150 extra back off government a month (paid quarterly).
