A question about : Wood burning stoves>

With gas and electric on the up thought it was about time I put a wood burning stove in. I have a good supply of logs!

Any thoughts or suggestions?

I know there are a few posts similar to this but cannot find one giving the advice I need (if you know of one please direct me!)

We have just moved into a 2 bed house, it has one small 15yr old storage heater in the living room, an electric towel rail in the bath room, and a wall mounted electric (blowy) heater in each of the bedrooms!

Has anyone installed a Baxi Ecogen micro-CHP boiler and are they as efficient as reported?

Also how more expensive are they than normal boilers to buy?

I am now using paraffin for my main source of heat, for the first time since the 1970's! There is a lot of prejudice against paraffin, but most of it is unjustified.

A question about : Biomass wood pellet prices

There are threads about the prices of most off-grid energy sources on MSE, but I cannot find one about biomass wood pellets, so I thought that I would share my findings.

The below prices are for 10kg or 15kg bagged pellets on a pallet, and are either published internet prices, or phone quotes, prices include VAT at 5%. All are ENplus A1 certified -

A question about : still not got a refund

i changed from edf in august to cooperative energy and edf still say they have not had the final elec readings from the coop, which i sent them early sept the coop says they have sent them, so im owed money and both companies have money of mine,

A question about : LPG gas prices

Now that oil, petrol, domestic gas and electricity prices are coming down who do we need to contact to try to achieve lower prices for LPG. I have contacted my supplier (MacGas/Flogas) but was told that I'm on a tariff at the bottom end of their range - my argument is that the range should now be set at a lower level still. Anyone have any suggestions?
