A question about : Coal prices

I know, i know. Burning coal is a big no-no today in this environmentally friendly world we now live so at the risk of incurring some wrath, i'd like to know how much coal is per 50kg? I Live in Kent.. The best prices i found so far are Ј55.50 for 3cwt (50kg) delivered! Bloody expensive isn't it? Is that the going rate now?:confused:

A question about : Which woodburning stove is the best?

I have one woodburning stove and am about to purchase another traditional type design (not modern) about 10kw output. Interested in finding out which ones everbody rates as best and why. I bought my first stove about a year ago, it was very reasonably priced and has worked well so far, there are some expensive models out there and just wondered what everyones opinion is, do they really justify paying a premium price tag? There surely cannot be that much difference, they are hardly high tech???

Yes, i know its the future with environmental impact, but financially is it worth it? Does it reduce gas and elctricity bills enough to warrant the initial outlay? My utilities are going sky high at the moment.

A question about : Price of a bag of coal?

I pay Ј8.50 for a bag in my area, however, there seems to be somewhat of a monopoly in this area. I wonder if there is a great deal of variation in other parts of the country?

I have been ringing around this afternoon and the best price I can get is Ј262.00 all inc for 500 litres!!!!!! I am in the Norfolk/Suffolk area - has anyone else got better prices recently? Would appreciate a list of Companies if you have. Thankyou.

I've just ordered a single inverter aircon unit to heat the open plan area of my house.

Ј450 for a 13000BTU unit which I should be able to fit myself, the savings over storage heaters sounds sensational - 1kw in = up to 4kw out (I know 1:6 units exist but they are too expensive to ever make them worth it).
