A question about : Leaving Scottish Power (or trying to!)

We have been in the process of moving from Scottish Power.

EDF have confirmed that the accounts have been moved at the end of Oct 14. Our Scottish power account online is showing as live and they are still taking meter readings! Have tried emailing and phoning and they just make excuses saying they are looking into it.

Has anyone else had this problem?

Best answers:

  • Everyone has a problem with Scottish power - including leaving them.
  • exactly same problem that i am in the middle of now!
  • Same here!!
  • Last year it took me from the 4th November to about now to get rid of them and have my credit returned so 10-12 weeks seems to be about right for them.
Have you formally complained - in writing? It won't make them go any faster or you feel any better but it does start the clock so you can invoke the ombudsman after eight weeks.
I complained after 28 days as I reckon that should be enough time for them to get it all sorted out.
  • Well at least it's not just me then
I moved at the end of October and its still on going, I've complained. Being on the DD plan they are holding a big credit, wonder why that is
  • Moved into new home on the 17th September and took over same supplier which was scottish power. Switched to a better rate in October.
No information from SP .. complained in December.. still no reply..
January started switching to Co-op .. so see if Co-op have any joy getting the details from them.
I think its ironic I ring up and say invoice me I want to pay my bill, and they don't bother..
  • Won't ever use them again even if they offer the cheapest deal.
