Shared Ownership

A question about : Shared Ownership

Hi All,

I have been on here a few times but I need your help to learn more about other people's experience with the shared ownership scheme (part buy part rent).

I do not have the best deposit for a property hence It appears I have to go via the Part buy part rent route.

Ideally looking to get a three or four bed house but it appears with a deposit of about Ј15k I would be looking at 2 bed flat under a shared ownership scheme as I am looking ideally in the following area:

As the title says, I signed up yesterday and called the office the guy is coming tomorrow for photos and measurements. TBF I have done alot of my own photos and description hope he can just add some pointers.

I have gone for the Ј299 up front and Ј299 on completion.

Housing associations for over 60's ?

A question about : Housing associations for over 60's ?

Anyone have experience of housing associations for the over 60's ?

I'm 65 and was looking to buy or rent a top floor flat in a semi-rural/scenic location but now wondering if a housing association may have advantages and free my capital to spend now as I have no family.

There are some nice rural houses with smaller associations but as priority is given to local occupants (no problem with that) it will probably be a struggle. That seems to leave the bigger ones like Anchor.

Hi clever people!
We're in a bit of a dilemma and wondered if anyone can help clarify things.
We moved in to our house 2.5 years ago. The market rental value of the house is around Ј1,400 pcm, but I negotiated a lower rent of Ј1,100 pcm with the landlord (a friend of a friend) and the landlord's agent when we moved in, as we couldn't afford the full market rent (which we told them at the time).

Right of way

A question about : Right of way

Hi,

I've bought a terraced property where I own a hallway with access to both my door and the door of a rented property, our deed says we must provide right of way to the other property. The outside entrance door and general hallway are in poor condition and I need to replace the door and flooring.

My neighbours have said it is standard for both properties to share the cost on things like replacing the door. I have emailed next doors landlord who has not replied to any correspondence more than once.
