Experience with Spicerhaart or Boulter & Co?

A question about : Experience with Spicerhaart or Boulter & Co?

Hi I am a first time buyer and wondered if anyone had any first hand experience with either of these firms? One is associated with the estate agent, and the other has been recommended. Both cost around the same (Ј50 difference). Is it easier to go with the estate agent's one or should I go for the recommended one?
Or can you recommend a conveyancer in the east London area?
Thanks

Is it possible to keep house purchase price hidden?

A question about : Is it possible to keep house purchase price hidden?

    Hi
We are in the process of purchasing a property at the moment. (if all goes well after tonight!)

We would like to keep our purchase price private from the likes of Zoopla etc. Is this possible and how?

Someone where we live has this info hidden but we can not find how it was done.

Gas & Electricity Card Meter removal

A question about : Gas & Electricity Card Meter removal

We have bought a new house which has card meters for gas and electricity. I have contacted Scottish Power to have these removed (just over 2 hours on phone to them) and were advised that there is a charge of Ј160 to remove them. Is this normal and do all energy companies charge to have card meters? Have you had any expoerience with card meters - Scottish Power were extremely unhelpful and frustrating to deal with. Thank you.

    Conservation Area

A question about : Conservation Area

I bought a ground floor leasehold flat in a conservation area, subject to 'article 4'. We are renovating the flat to sell it on and top of the list of things to do was to replace the old very thinly paned sash windows with new timber framed double glazed windows. We were worried about how cold it would get, (plus we noticed fairly quickly that we have very noisy neighbours - double glazing helps with this).

    Taylor Wimpey Edinburgh and Lothians

A question about : Taylor Wimpey Edinburgh and Lothians

    Hello
We are considering putting down a reservation on a property on a TW development around the Edinburgh area. Having done some research on the area we are happy with the location and our dealings with the team so far. Has anybody completed a sale in the area in recent times and have any feedback they could share. We are new buyers so advice from those who have been through the process with the same team would be invaluable.
