I have 100K to invest - but as we might move at some stage, I need easy access to the money - not that keen on notice accounts, as I would probably forget to give notice ;D So probably needs to be easy access.

A question about : Saving for Mortgage Deposit

Hi Everyone,

I hope I'm posting this in the right place - sorry if I haven't.

We want to start the ball rolling on saving for a deposit for a mortgage. It won't be an overnight thing as we both need to do a little bit of work on improving our credit rating (we have a small amount of debt which although is currently being paid needs to be cleared), so we are looking at around a 4 year plan.

A question about : Tax and offshore bond

I hope someone can help, I invested in an offshore bond in 1997 with about 15k the bond is now valued at approx 95k, up until last year I had withdrawn 4.8k, I am currently a basic rate taxpayer. I am struggling to understand what tax I will pay should I disinvest and bring back onshore. Thanks

This is my first post. I moved to Italy when I was 30. I'm now 50. I'm a non-UK resident, but I still have a First Direct account and my parents' UK address I can use.
I've done a forum search but haven't found clear info.
