A question about : Expat UK Investment question

Hi all,
This is my first post. I moved to Italy when I was 30. I'm now 50. I'm a non-UK resident, but I still have a First Direct account and my parents' UK address I can use.
I've done a forum search but haven't found clear info.
My question:
I've got a modest endowment policy of around Ј35k which will mature in July. I'd like to leave the money in the UK. Can I, for example, put some of it in a fund directly using my First Direct online banking? As a specific example, I'm looking to dip my toe in a Fundsmith investment. I can see on their website it says their fund is intended for UK residents only.
Am I actually breaking any laws if I successfully apply and invest in this via my First Direct account and using my parents' address?
I know I can't get an ISA. I know I'll be liable for UK capital gains tax.
Sincere thanks for any guidance
