A question about : Birmingham Midshires – 7 days to transfer out

Anyone here experienced transferring Ј's from the Birmingham Midshires 'Internet Easy Access' a/c? If so, how many days were your Ј's deprived of interest?

I could find no indication in the Terms + Conditions re duration for transfers. But having gone online to arrange a test transfer to my linked a/c, I was disappointed to read :

"when you send money to your linked account, it will take up to 4 bank working days to arrive."

A question about : DFS (the Sofa Co) IPO

DFS has annouced an IPO, due to list in March.

Does anyone have any views on whether this is worth a punt?

I'm undecided at the moment, don't know much about the sofa business.

Effective September 1st, Coventry Building Society's online account NetSave Instant offers the same AER, no matter whether interest is paid annually or monthly. (I know some folk here prefer to see their savings grow, month-by-month – eg via trend-setters ING Direct.)

The only snag is Coventry's new rate is just 4.85% AER/gross. Greater AER interest from comparable online accounts is offered elsewhere :

I am looking to start trading shares on the stock market and have been researching which stock analysis software to use, if any. I have looked at a couple of products called "Star Trader" and "ShareScope".
Does anyone have any advice to offer on these two products or recommendations regarding other software.
