A question about : Cracked fire brick

Hi all

The brick at the back of my woodburner has a crack right down the middle. I'm told it won't make any difference but should I seal it with fire cement?

A question about : Fixed or Frozen?

I'm with sainsbugs on the fixed to March 2015 tariff.

Just phoned to chat about alternative tariffs - the cheap energy club advised I switched to the fixed to feb 2016 offering, but wanted to check my average usage and the like with someone at the company - I prefer talking to people.

I was recommended, due to being a low user (an average of Ј400/500 per year on duel fuel), to go for the feb 2016 frozen to 2016 tariff - as its a lower standing charge, but slightly higher pkwh.

We've been heating the downstairs of our house with a couple of panel convectors. Now I removed 2 creda storage heaters about 5 or 6 years ago but I'm now thinking it might be time to return to that style of heating. With the limited amount we run the current setup 17 degrees is a luxury.

A question about : Anyone used Rointe heaters?

We've currently got storage heaters as we don't have gas but they are proving to be very expensive to use.
A friend has suggested these as a replacement and their sales blurb seems quite convincing but cannot find any real world reviews anywhere

Any advice would be appreciated as we're freezing our bits of!!!

A question about : coal sold at petrol stations.

I'm baffled why they sell 10 kilo bags of coal for near double the normal price. I realise you would have to be desperate and all the other shops closed to pay Ј7.50 + for the same bag sold for Ј3.99 elsewhere, but what huge cost are the petrol companies having to add to the price ?

Or is it just a plain old rip off ?

A question about : Mse deal eon

It is now nearly 16 weeks since I applied to switch to MSEs special deal with Eon. I was on a previous deal with that company. I have been on their standard rate now for that period. I am well in credit.I have heard nothing since an email Oct 30 from MSE rejoicing in my wisdom.
Any thoughts, anyone? Thank you.
