A question about : Buying a house with oil central heating

We are considering a bungalow which has a oil tank. The tank looks like it is made of metal and is rusty on the outside. There is no gas supply. I have a few questions:

1. How much difference is there in energy costs between oil and gas?

A question about : Calor gas butane question

Hi everyone just a little question regarding the Calor butane bottles. A month or two before xmas I purchased a Calor portable heater to cut down on the cost that I use through the mains. I was lucky enough to get a bottle with the heater that lasted a lot longer than I expected. I was then lucky enough to be given another bottle that which I presume was full or nearly full as that lasted again for a lot longer than I expected.

A question about : I think NPower have ripped me off. HELP!

On the 8th of January this year I changed my gas and electricity supplier form NPower to British Gas, a couple of days after this I had a knock on the door from a man from NPower asking to take my final meter readings.

A question about : Timing for switching question, advice please

Sorry probably common question but I am with Scottish Power on a deal that runs out Feb 28th 2015 with penalties for leaving early, bearing in mind it takes a few weeks to switch over completely, can I start the process off before then and if so when would be good or am I best waiting until the 28th of Feb?

Just thinking maybe I could avoid going on Standard tarrif after the 28th Feb while waiting for new supplier to complete process.

Any info appreciated.

right people need some advice i will give as much information as possible but something isnt right here.

i rent a 1 bed flat above a shop and i am on a pay as you go meter ( i know i pay slightly more than normal for this and may change this soon) and have 4 radiators and a worcester bosch boiler

A question about : Utility warehouse mis selling

I would love to hear from anyone who like me has been mis sold gas / electric by Utility Warehouse, ie quoted low monthly bills only to find that this is inaccurate. I would also like to hear from anyone who has found the Ombudsman services to be a waste of time.

A question about : wood burning stove

Does anyone have any recommendations for a wood burning stove.

I am on oil however when the electric goes - the boiler stops working

No we are not on the gas line.

I need one with a flat top so that I can put a saucepan on top.

Something to fit in a normal size fireplace that would heat a room of 30ft by 7ft.

Does anyone know anything about backboilers

A question about : NPower Nest thermostat loophole?

I was looking at getting a Nest thermostat and saw that NPower offer one free as part of their In Control March 2017 package.

The tariff is more expensive than what I pay now by Ј150 a year and has exit fees of Ј100 combined on the gas and electric.

I've looked through the small print and cannot see that once I have had the Nest installed there is nothing to say that I cannot transfer my custom elsewhere and that the only fee I would pay would be the exit fee of Ј100?
