A question about : advice on permission for shed on communal land

Hi, I'm in the process of selling my house and the buyers have come back with a query about my shed and I'm not sure how to respond without getting myself in trouble!
The house is a mid terrace and there is a large gated communal ginnel at the back. All the residents store their bins out there and a few store motor bikes, composters etc.

A question about : Roof Inspection / Survey

Hi,

Recently made an offer on a house which was accepted.

I would like the roof timbers and roof structure properly checked out - there could potentially be problems.

I want someone to get right into the loft space and check everything out. Not someone in a suit popping his head through the loft hatch, shining a torch and then recommending further investigation from a specialist.

The rest of the property is fine. No damp, had a new rewire, newish boiler etc.

A question about : Buying a freehold flat

I've heard that it's difficult to get a mortgage on a freehold flat.

There is one I'm looking at that's been on the market for about 2 and a half months, the price has been dropped once already. It's a two bed flat but it has a large hallway and bedroom so there is the potential to turn it into a 3 bed.

A question about : Waiting to exchange

Well, we have now passed the 'mortgage application' and survey hurdle and searches are all done. As far as I know, our buyers should also have everything in order. We are now waiting for our seller to get to the same point as they found their house a fortnight after accepting the offer from us. It is nerve wrecking... anyone want to join me????!!!

A question about : Gas Meter Removed from property I am buying

Hi,

I was trying to see if there were any other posts before asking a question but being a newbie I got stuck (sorry)

I will be reinspecting the house which I am buying tomorrow morning at 10am. I have been advised by the seller that the gas meter was removed in late December as the property was unoccupied.

1. How do I find out if the gas is still connected?

2. Would I have to pay for a meter to be installed ? Does anyone have an indication of costs involved?
