NHS Wheelchair Assessment. Any Experience?

A question about : NHS Wheelchair Assessment. Any Experience?

I was diagnosed with a progressive disease a couple of years ago. My muscles basically do not work. Its worse in my legs but affects my legs to an extent too. There is no treatment and it will only get worse.

Eight months ago my GP referred me to the NHS Wheelchair Service. I have finally been given an appointment for an assessment. I just wondered if anyone had any experience of this or what the edibility is?

Moving to More Suitable Accommodation

A question about : Moving to More Suitable Accommodation

Hey everyone. title=Smile

We currently live in a first floor flat with our two little ones.

I have severe M.E. and we've just been awarded a bungalow as I have mobility problems which mean that I struggle with the stairs, which is a big barrier to me being able to go out on my slightly better days and leaves me feeling isolated (I also use a wheelchair when out of the house.) It also has a wet floor shower with a seat as I struggle with washing etc too.

Pedal guard

A question about : Pedal guard

Sorry I know this is not totally money related but I don't know where else to ask.
I'm about to get a new car (used most likely), and am thinking pedal guard would be of great use. Has anyone got them fitted, can other people drive the car with ease? If you have how much did it cost to get them fitted?
Thanks

    Support Group query?

A question about : Support Group query?

    Hi
Just had a call from a friend .
To cut a very long story short, he's received a letter today moving him from the WRAG to the Support group
He is relieved the situation has eventually been sorted, but he's quite concerned that the confirmation letter doesn't state how long the
award is for. There is no re-assessment date.
Could i please ask, is this normal, or should there be a re-assessment date?

Any help will be gratefully received.
