A question about : Toys ... is everything now related tom a TV show

Although not just a Christmas related topic, this seems a good place to post my comment.

I was in a local toyshop today with my daughter and grandson. As a big kid (56) I've always loved toy shops.

Anyway, it seems 90% of toys that are now being sold have some connection with a TV programme, or film.

A question about : Attaching decs to rock hard plaster!!

Our grandchildren are coming on Christmas day, for the first time, and I need to make more effort than just a tree
So, today, I thought I would experiment, and tried to put some decs up in the hallway........and fell at the first hurdle as I couldn't get the drawing pins into either the wall or the ceiling!
Any suggestions please?

A question about : Playmobil saving

I've never posted before (but I love to read the forums) but I wanted to share my best Christmas present bargain. My son wanted a certain Playmobil model which is largely sold out in this country, but is available from Amazon at Ј45. Somehow I ended up on the French Amazon site, and I got the toy for Ј34, including delivery! I couldn't read eveything on the checkout pages etc. but the format is identical to Amazon UK so I could work out enough.

A question about : Going to a party as the lamppost from Narnia?

I'm a guy. I've decided to go to a party as the lamppost from Narnia, my current plan is to wear all black (black jeans, black t-shirt) with a Ј4 lamp shade upside down on my head full of christmas lights, maybe some sprayed on snow and some card cuffs for my legs to look like the base of a lamppost. The lampshade will have some tape and stuff on to try and emulate the frame of a lamppost.

I'm struggling with how to keep the lampshade on my head - has anyone got any ideas?

I know this might be ridiculous but is there anything in choosing a wallet? Say if I go on the market and buy one or is there a bit more effort required?

my dad needs a new wallet! id like to buy a good quality one that will last a while but that won't cost an absolute fortune.

A question about : Looking for Christmas wrapping paper with CATS on please

I'm mostly housebound due to ME so I'm unable to traipse through dozens of shops looking for it like I used to. This is one of the Christmassy things I don't want to change, so please, if anyone knows of a store selling rolls of Christmas wrap with cats on, post here. I've got one shopping trip in me before Christmas so this is my last chance to get it.

I noticed the other day that a curry house near to where I live had a poster in the window saying that they're still taking bookings for Christmas day. I checked the menu online and they're just doing their normal menu on Christmas Day, not a turkey, brussel sprout or roast potato in sight.
