A question about : Pre paid rail tickets-Question.

Hi Could someone answer this please. I'm going to Ludlow in a couple of weeks and its 2 trains there and back. I intend to buy the prepaid tickets as its cheaper but obviously you have to go on the set time trains.
If the first train was running late or if it broke down etc which meant you had to catch a later train, would you have to pay for the new ticket?. It would be train companies fault not mine but I just wondered what would happen. Especially with the current bad weather.

A question about : Oyster card inspectors: using someone else's card

I understand that you can't transfer an annual travelcard on an Oyster card e.g. letting someone else use yours. However, how would inspectors know it if it was yours or not?

If it was a child or OAP card - and you clearly don't look like a schoolkid or old person - I can believe inspectors would be suspicious when they use those scanners. But how would they know if it's just an adult one? Do those scanners actually bring up a name if it's an annual one?

A question about : Best value tube or bus travel for a weekend in London

My wife and I are in London next weekend (Fri 30th Jan/Sun 1st Feb)
Stopping near to Euston, we will want to take the tube or bus around zone's 1 & 2, mainly off peak. What is the best way to do it?
I also have a Senior Railcard (My wife does not)

A question about : cancelled train

Last night my train was cancelled and I had to wait for the next one. What can I claim?

The ticket inspector gave me a replacement ticket but said I can go online to get some sort of refund.

A question about : Communting on the train from Battle, East Sussex into London

Hi all

Does anyone here have experience of commuting by train into London from Battle in East Sussex?

In particaular the 7am direct regular train from Battle into London Cannon Street.

Do you regularly manage to get seats? Or at least manage to get on the train and stand?

We are considering a move to this neck of the woods so would like to know the rush hour train journey situation first from someone who already does it!
