A question about : HGV blindspots

Here is a repeat of a recent post on a thread about cycling, and my response to the post was ignored. But I think the issue of HGV blindspots is in urgent need of attention.

“Whether you're a fan of cyclists or not, I find it ridiculous that HGVs were ever allowed to drive through cities without being able to see all around at all times”

A question about : Do train fares shoot up two weeks before travel?

I'm travelling from Manchester to London on 30 January and a while ago bought an advance ticket. My plans have now changed and I need to travel earlier in the day (planning to leave Manchester between approximately 8 and 9). I've been having a few problems doing so online and have e-mailed back and forth with the customer service for the website (who say I can amend the ticket and should have a button/link to click on to do so.)

A question about : kings cross to west hampstead help please

In the middle of January midweek I have to travel between Kings Cross station and West Hampstead, I live in the north but after looking at a London tube map I am confused which would be the best route. Also
if I knew how long it would take I maybe will able to take a later, cheaper train to London

A question about : Train Travel: starting short (NOT breaking journey)

Ticket from Winchester to London is Ј22. Ticket from Bournemouth to London (calling at Winchester) is Ј7.50 (at certain times). Can I buy the Bournemouth-London ticket but start my journey at Winchester - ie, will the ticket barriers at Winch let me through and, even if they don't, should I still be allowed through by the attendant?

Hi all,

I live in Bramley (Hampshire) and commute daily to London Waterloo by train. I’m about to renew my season ticket and think I’ve discovered a loophole that will save me money.

As you would expect, my standard option is to buy an annual ticket from Bramley to London Terminals (Valid only for travel via Basingstoke). This costs Ј4,252. I don’t want to go via Reading because I work right next to Waterloo.

Ј5.00 worth of Clubcard vouchers buys Ј10.00 worth of Megabus or Megatrain tickets.

Effectively halves the price of what are already cheap tickets.

A question about : Trains more expensive near Christmas?

Hi,

I'm hoping to go down to wales on the train with my housemate to stay the xmas week(or so) with my parents.

I Usually have no problem with trains and that, but i was wondering, as i've never travelled anywhere near Christmas, does anyone know/experienced that they put the fares up closer to Christmas?

As i've just looked for the latest date possible on the national rail website, 3 months ahead and the price for a SINGLE is already Ј33 when i only pay Ј26 for a return.
