Keep In Touch days

A question about : Keep In Touch days

My partner is currently on maternity leave. She is being paid maternity pay, however would like to use KIT days. Her employer states any hours will be paid at standard contractual rate.

My question is, if she uses any KIT days, will they be paid in addition to maternity pay and will they affect her maternity pay/leave?

Thanks

Employer changed safety shoe supplier which are killing my feet

A question about : Employer changed safety shoe supplier which are killing my feet

I wear anti slip safety shoes for work due to the nature of my work.

My old shoes needed replacing as the edges of the soles went smooth. My employer gave me a replacement pair made by a different supplier and they are hurting my feet after 5-6 hours of wearing them. I wear them for 8 hours. I find my feet in much pain still when I go to bed.

Being contacted by work whilst on holiday/term time etc

A question about : Being contacted by work whilst on holiday/term time etc

Can I ask for opinions on this please.

I have recently started to work term time and this week I'm off with the kids.

Obviously I'm not being paid for this week although may pay is averaged over the year.

My employer has emailed me today asking me to call them. I have done and it was quite frankly a waste of time and something that could have been dealt with next week considering the deadline for what they are asking about is the 27th February.

A question about : Next in line for the sack?

As some will know I used to frequent these boards quite often last year after suffering in the job from hell for 2 years. Well I managed to escape and got my current job last May and I can honestly say I have never been happier, love the job, love the people can't say a bad thing about my job. Well law of sod a big client pulled out after Xmas and we have been very slack since. We are now running with just 4 people having sacked 4 over this past 2 weeks.

Hi, this is my first time posting on here, I'm looking for some advice in regards my career.
For three years I've been doing a apprenticeship for nvq diploma in site carpentry and wood occupations, passed my level two and due to finish my level three in three months.
I've spent three years on a new house build site being trained by my boss and one day a week at college.
