A question about : Closing Cards

I have 5 credit cards that have a combined limit of Ј55,000. There is currently no debt and the limits vary from Ј4,400 to Ј22,000. I intend to apply for a mortgage in 6 months time so should I keep these open or shut them down. I could leave the 2 lowest limits open and that would still give me Ј10,000 across the 2. My mortgage will probably be with RBS or Barclays.

A question about : Reducing Interest Free Card balance

I hope someone can answer this query.

I have three separate interest free deals on my Barclaycard (lets just say they are for Ј1500 each i.e a total of Ј4500 - I'm not sure of the specific amounts).
One of them is due to expire in a few months. I'm just wondering if I get a new 0% balance transfer deal from another lender for Ј1500, will Barclaycard apply it to the earliest deal? I'm just worried they will leave the earliest deal untouched and I'll get hit with interest charges.

A question about : Soft credit Search

Hi,

Not sure if anyone knows but What information does a soft credit search show? Ie insurance companies or credit card/bank accounts you are already in. Does it show all the same things that a hard one does?

Ie accounts, name address, DOB, any defaults/court information, who you have agreements with Or just the score?

I am one of those lucky holders who have the old Cash Back credit card. I still get the credit into my balance (usually Ј15) but I can not find anywhere the details of what qualifies for cash back and the amount (I recall it was either 1% or 0.5%)

A question about : Capital One CC / Tesco Pay At Pump

just thought I'd share this as I had a problem using my CO credit card at tesco's petrol pump recently.

It turns out that the Tesco petrol pumps won't accept payment from a CO credit card- instead you have to go inside and pay.

Shame really as I wanted to do the thing where you get extra clubcard points for using your Tesco CC as a clubcard and then paying on a different credit card.
