A question about : Giving card details over email

Hi,

I'm sorry if I've posted this in the wrong place!

I'm looking for some advice regarding a payment I need to make abroad. I owe a hospital in America Ј100 from a holiday last summer. I was sent the bill, and a website to pay on, but it turns out I can't use this website as I don't have a valid zip code.

I e-mailed them about it and they told me I can send my card details over e-mail or phone in order to pay. This is the usual card number/three digit number off back/expiry combo.

A question about : Halifax on-line statements

For some reason my Halifax Credit card February statement hasn't been produced and the following is showing on-line.

February 2014 - account inactive

My account is up to date and it will allow me to do a BT so the card isn't disabled. It's a BT card so I don't want to do any spending on it.

I've asked Halifax about this but has anyone else had this problem?

A question about : Credit card fee

Took out a credit card a year ago, as was free for the first year when I opened another bank account at the branch. I've never used it and my annual statement came through today, I phoned up to cancel but they want to charge the Ј24 annual fee even though I don't want to use it for the next year! Apparently I had to give a months notice but had no reminder/renewal letter and phoned up the same month as I took it out last year. Can they do this?

Hi all,

Does a credit card's limit have any impact (positive or negative) on the building of a credit score or is it all down to the repayments?

I'm using a CC for business purposes (expenses) so can guarantee that I'll be always be able to pay it back and never overspend .... Just wondering if it's worth asking for a limit increase as I do still find myself using my current account (CC limit is low due to no credit history).

A question about : Paying off v paying the minimum

I was wondering if anyone knew is it better for my credit score to pay off the credit card debt I have or continue paying off the minimum each month as long as it's not earning interest?

I've got another 12 months until the interest kicks in and currently pay the minimum each month but have the money available to pay it off completely.

Is it better for my credit level to show I can pay off the minimum every month and have that ongoing as manageable debt, or just pay it off and have no debt?
