A question about : Rebate on old bill?

Hi this is my first post on the forum. I'm Mark, hello everybody.
I have a quick question.
I've been on a water meter for 6 months now and just had my first bill. It makes shocking reading! I've been told that if I carry on with my current usage for the year I will finish with a bill of approximately Ј317, this is excellent as it shows a vast saving from my previous yearly bill of Ј577.

A question about : Unmetered whilst renting

Hi all

Just wanted to see if anyone had any thoughts on my possible upcoming predicament before I call Anglian Water.

So I'm currently renting and it's unmetered which suits me fine. Last year as the entry point of the pipe is outside the property on the verge AW decided to put a meter on it although I've never changed over. Not sure if it's part of changing everyone eventually to meters or what.

A question about : WaterSure scheme

I applied to United Utilities for the WaterSure scheme in October and was informed that I was eligible. (And I was also told that my eligibility would be back-dated to June 2014).

Naturally I was rather pleased as I assumed that I could look forward to lower water service charges. However, my most recent bill (5 June - 3 December 2014) is Ј206.93 - and this is considerably higher than I was expecting. It's higher than my previous bill (23 November 2013 - 4 June 2014) which was Ј176.79.

A question about : Can (should?) I have the water turned OFF?

I live in a big house, (rented from my dad) - I live in the upper flat of the house, and rent the lower flat from him as storage for my work. (two water rates, two council taxes)

We already pay the usual water rates for the upper flat we live in.

but the lower flat, we NEVER use the water at all, but are still having to pay the usual water rates.

Am I allowed to ask to have the lower flat water turned off?

A question about : Water Meter

I am thinking of changing to a water meter and worked out that I will save about Ј50 per year if not more.

My concern though is if there is a leak between the service outside my garden and inside (ie I do not know about it).

Is there insurance to cover the involuntary 'usage'?

A question about : WATER BILL

My mother has been living alone in a council flat (now a housing assoc.) and been charged seriously well over the odds for her water bill since maybe 2000. She has just had a water meter fitted. What are the odds on getting some sort of refund?

A question about : Water bill extremely high?

Ј2,306.80 for three months.

Either there was a leak in the rental property or we failed to spot the Olympic sized swimming pool in the garden.

We have contested it.

A question about : Southern water woes.

Good afternoon, just looking for some advice as to how I can move forward with trying to get my bill with southern water sorted. We had a water meter fitted around March 2014 when southern water said everyone now has to be on a metered supply in East Kent.
