A question about : Grand Amrath Amsterdam Stole our money!!

Hi, I'm posting what happened to me and my girlfriend to see if anyone can advise me on what if any action you would advise me and my partner of taking with regards to the below noted circumstance or as we are assuming now that its a hit we are just going to have to take. If nothing else then at least its letting people know of the shoddy service we got from the Grand Amrath hotel.

a big hello to all on the forum.

my situation is that i have a 2 week package booked to turkey in july.
as yet i still have to get insurance sorted and was wonering if anyone has any advice on whether i need to try to get covered against the effects of the volcanic ash or would standard insurance be sufficient - given that most policies now do not cover what is a deemed as a 'known risk'.

A question about : Anyone having trouble with Olympic Holidays after volcanic ash in April?

Olympic Holidays reckon they exercised a duty of care towards us by offering accommodation and breakfast. Well maybe they did but the standard of it was incredibly poor, out of 50 clients only 4 stayed and write ups on internet generally about the hotel are mostly dreadful.

Has anyone managed to successfully claim off Cyprus Airways - I sent them a fax 3-4 weeks ago and I've heard nothing back - I don't even know if they received my fax

• We have a house in Cyprus. The Cypriots are notoriously bad at 'customer service'. You will just have to keep trying, maybe phone them?

Just wondered if anyone had any luck in getting compensation from BA when their flight was cancelled due to the ash cloud recently.

A question about : Anybody had any success claiming from Iberia?

Hi my family were stranded in Madrid for 5 days whilst UK airspace was closed for the original ash cloud in April. We arranged our own hotel etc but did eventually travel back by air on our rebooked flight with Iberia. When we got home we sent a letter (with copies of receipts) to reclaim our costs (accomodation and food) to an address we were given in Spain (posted by Royal Mail intetrnational signed for). But since we have not heard anything from Iberia.
