A question about : Help with childcare and tax credits

Hi,
I am currently claiming JSA - Contribution Based which is due to end on 11th October 2012. I have been offered a job at 16 hrs per week starting on 15th October and will be earning roughly Ј150 per week. My partner works 40hrs per week and gets Ј400 before tax. Our 2 year old daughter will need to go into childcare which will cost us Ј85 per week. I am just wondering how much child and working tax credits we will be entitled to?

A question about : Split Parents and Working Family Tax Entitlements

I don't understand why, in this country, if two parents share equal custody of their children only ONE can claim Working Family Tax and only ONE can be named primary carer. That aside:-

If one parent is claiming Working Family Tax but NOT the childcare element, can the other parent claim the childcare element?

A question about : Money after taking Redundancy

At the end of October, I will be resigning from my job due to taking Voluntary Redundancy. I will be moving from the Midlands to Weston-super-mare.

With this, I have been told there is a chance I could have the money which is potentially Ј6k if the position is filled or if not, I have been told to resign and I would just get 1 and a half months wages and holiday pay.

My husband was made redundant on 4th September and has never been unemployed before he is 59. We undertand he should to sign on in order to get his NI contributions made.

From the reading I have done this afternoon on various sites it seems that Contribution based JSA of Ј71 can be reduced or not paid if you are in receipt of a pension (he received Ј454 net every month from the Navy approx Ј6537 gross). We are assuming that he would not be entiled to anything, please can anyone advise.

A question about : Victim of tax credit fraud! What can i do?

I like so many others have become a victim of tax credit fraud, i received a bill from H.M.R.C a couple of months ago requesting overpayment of over Ј1200.
I immediately phoned the number on the letter to find out what was going on as i had never in my life claimed single persons working tax credit`s

After being re-directed a few times at some cost on my phone bill, i was informed that yes you had a post office account at J.P Morgan case London. where tax credits where paid in every week.

well the short story is I received a letter from Inter-Credit International informing me they'd been appointed to collect Ј80 from me for a scooter I owned about a year ago. Basically the DVLA claim i was the registered keeper of an unlicenced vehicle on 01/06/2010
(i dont even know what that means)

A question about : What to do for the best?

I am in receipt of housing benefit, i claim wftc and have two companies that pay low wages to myself. I have been left a sum of money in the region of 17-20000 and want to know where i stand with a) housing benefit and b) wftc. many thanks in advance.

• tax credits will not be affected, housing benefit will stop
