A question about : can i claim child tax credits for my grandchildren

My daughter and her 2 children are living with me temporarily. My daughter has been trying to claim tax credits but cannot as they are saying her national insurance number isnt activated. We have been waiting for 3 weeks and when ever we call them they say she has to wait another 2 weeks. She is getting desperate now as she has no money and i cannot afford to support them on my income.
Can i apply for child tax credits until she gets sorted out?

I wonder if someone can advise me. I have applied for Tax Credits and sent me acknowledgement that they are working on it. Its been nearly 2 months. How long does it normally take for them to decide ?

Hello , I wonder if anyone can help me with my question please.

I have been self employed for the last ten years or so , paying my taxes and ni contributions.

I ceased trading in 2009 , due to the economic climate taking its toll, since ceasing self employment however, I have had a couple of employed positions that did not last more than a few months and paid tax and ni through the employer.

A question about : Problems claiming pension credit ?

Is anyone out having problems claiming Pension Credit? For example: having no response, taking too long between application and actual payment, etc etc?

Hi, I have a son of 26yrs who has recently attempted to take his life, he is under the gp but has really got himself into a right old mess.

I have discovered he has many money worries but he will not go into great depth. He lost his job back in July 2012, was fortunate enough to find full time employment thru a temping agency soon after, is working 38.5hrs per wk & is paid weekly, he is taking home Ј170 a wk which is a drop in earnings of about Ј800 take home per month to what he was earning.

I am employed by a local authority working 37 hours per week. I plan to go back to work part time, but I have no idea whether I will be better off doing 3 days or 2.
I earn Ј29,192 pa currently, and ideally want to go back to work for as little of my week as possible. (Just being honest!)
