A question about : Drop in income

If our income has dropped below Ј25,000 from September 2014, will we be assessed from the current tax year 2015-2016? We wonder if our daughter who starts University in September will receive a grant or if we will still have to support her as she will struggle to pay her rent and her living expenses on the maintenance loan.

A question about : Glide

Any students, or parents of a student, such as myself, please check Glide out fully before signing up to them.

In theory it's a good idea - each person in the shared arrangement is responsible for their own part of the Glide contract. But you do pay a premium for this.

However, as my daughter has found out, they are not helpful when it comes to problems and customer service.

A question about : Is it OK to buy things with a student discount and resell them?

This week's MoneySaver who wants advice asks... I used my student discount at the Apple store and got 15% off a new MacBook, plus a three-year warranty that usually you’d pay Ј199 for. I then sold it unopened on eBay and pocketed the profit. The way I see it, as soon as an item is my own I can do with it as I wish - the buyer is still be paying less and I make a little too. But some people I knew thought this was an abuse of the student discount, was it?

A question about : Bank of Scotland Closed my Student Account

Hi,

I have had a student account with bank of Scotland for just over 6 years (undergraduate and now PhD), however they closed it recently and said despite being a student there is a 6 year limit to student accounts and I will not be able to open student accounts in any other bank. Furthermore I will only receive a graduate account for the remaining period since I completed my Undergraduates (2012).

Is this right or are they just incompetent?

does anyone use claro read ver 6 / its software package to help disabled students turn written text on a computer into spoken word by reading it aloud.
im having probs troubleshooting and the company suggest buying a new package which includes an online tutorial. which is beyond my budget.
id be grateful for any advice
