A question about : Ј6k (+vat) for new bathroom

Got a 3x3m bathroom. Needs complete ripping out and everything new.

Company who came out said they don't do labour only work - so they supply items after we say what we want. (Already made me a bit funny).

The quote is yet to come through officially but he said about Ј6k ballpark - not including VAT.

Them removing tiles
Plastering
Retiling walls
Floors
Installing all items
EVERYTHING basically

Is this a good price for a chimney stack repair quote for South Wales?

Taking off the deteriorated flaunching on top of chimney and supply and fix a chimney pot and flue vent terminal including concreting.

Dressing back, sorting out pointing on stack where required and sealing of chimney flashings

Price includes scaffolding as it's a high stack style chimney on the side of the house.

My fiance and I have just purchased our first property in London. It's in need of a fair amount of tlc, namely:

- Taking out walls for kitchen to make open plan lounge/kitchen
- New kitchen
- New bathroom
- New flooring
- New electric heaters or underfloor heating
- Painting whole flat
- Plastering ceiling
- Adding some nicer lighting

A question about : Guttering Fascias & Soffits

Hi,

i'm trying to track down a few other firms in Bristol to get quotes but I've had one that doesn't seem too dreadful.

1940's Semi, the above all around, with 2 downpipes house is 7m x 9m

The current guttering has asbestos, however the current boards and fascias/soffits are solid with no sign of any decay so am going for the attachment of PVC as opposed to the full replacement and are being done more for decorative purposes.

I've received a quote for a new boiler and radiators and the boiler specified was discontinued in July 2013.

Isn't Google wonderful?

Would you allow that to be fitted?

• Discontinued means the manufacturers stopped making the boiler in July 2013. That isn't the date they stopped selling it. There may still be stock held by the makers, wholesalers or plumbers merchants. Parts will still be available for a good 10 to 15 years.

A question about : Boiler and heating replacement

Hello all, looking at nearly Ј6k for a new boiler and complete replacement of heating including four radiators in a two bed purpose built flat. The engineer gets very good ratings on Checkatrade.com and we'd get an eight year warranty with the boiler. Feels like a lot but then the whole theing is being replaced, including pipes.

A question about : Replacing shower with bath quote

We are in the process of getting some quotes to replace our shower with a bath. It will have to be a 1500 bath as the area is quite small. We have had one quote for Ј1400 just for the labour and for us to supply the parts. If they were to supply the parts as well then they have quoted Ј2350. This is what they had on the invoice for work that needs doing. We are based in Bedfordshire. Does this seem high or about right?
