Is This Quote Fair?

A question about : Is this quote fair?

I was wondering if anyone could tell me if they think that the following quote is reasonable for the job described:
Ј3500 to:
Retile a shower room from floor to ceiling (the room is 2m*2m)
Fit a new shower tray (i.e the bit you stand on)
Fit a power shower (which has already been bought)

I'm no expert in these matters but the price seems high??

A question about : Additional ring circuits

I Have a two bedroom terrace house in essex (thurrock) with only one ring circuit for all the sockets , as it trips off under heavy load i want it changed to 3 rings, one upstairs, one downstairs and one kitchen (the oven & hob are on separate circuit & ok).as are the lights . I will also need a new consumer unit can anyone give me an idea of the costs and any recommended electricians would be great.

A question about : Moving walls!

Hi Guys,
Just wondering if anyone knows (roughly of course!) how much it would cost to pull down a stud wall 12'0 and rebuild it 4'6 back. The door will obviously need to be re-hung as well. :confused:

A question about : Another bathroom quote

I have insurance covering damage to my bathroom, including replacing ceiling, flooring, existing tiling around the bath and re-painting the rest of the walls. I have asked the builder employed by the insurance company to quote me for extra work. This is:
1/ replacing the existing bathroom suite (I have purchased the new suite) - much moving of pipes including a rectangular bath replaced with a corner bath and the shower moving along the wall.
2/ Tiling the rest of the bathroom floor to ceiling (2 m square bathroom).

What is the approx cost of running a 10 millimetre cable from a garage attached to a house to an upstairs bathroom for a shower. The approximate length of the cable is 10 metres. no chasing out to be done. just to be laid on timber joists in the loft?

A question about : Foam Roofing Insulation Questions

We have an edwardian house with a roof that is past it's best, I have seen the ads for spraying the inside of the roof with polurethane foam which supposedly strengthens the tiles and stops slippage where the nails have decayed. My questions are, how much roughly are there good/bad firms out there and most importantly when we come to sell (say five years time) will the surveyor fall out of the loft with laughter!!!!

A question about : Rewiring a 1930's house

Hi,

My house hasn't been rewired since it was built (1937), overall we haven't had any probs since moving in, but in one room, the electrics trip if we have one too many appliances on.

It was estimated at Ј8,000 to rewire around 2 years ago this seems a bit steep, but don't really have any experience of what it should cost.

A question about : Need a quote of alteration works charged by builder

We have an (1.7 m X 2.4 m) extension project including refiting kitchen and bathroom with one builder.

In the begging, there is no drawing when quote and contract was agreed. We didn't put adding cloakroom, adding skylight in the quote.
We thought this is a small work.

Until we had party wall issue, we got an architect did a drawing and at that time, the cloakroom, raised ceiling with skylight are all in the drawing. This was made in last November.
