A question about : Overpay on car loan

New to forum but keen to sort my finances out so hope someone can help!

I'm currently working my butt off to pay off a credit card (current balance around Ј1,650). Once I've finished paying that, I'll have about Ј250 spare A month. My only other debt is a car loan with FGA Capital, original loan amount of Ј7,000 over 60 months. So far I've only made 2 payments but keen to get rid of this debt asap.

Firstly this is my first post so if im in the wrong section of the forum it is with great apologies.......

A little backround....

Recently I started seeing a girl who was in a long term relationship previous to this. During that relationship her and her partner bought a car together on finance, therefore the credit agreements were in both their names, when they split the lad took the car as she cant drive, proceeded to sell the car then defaulted on the loan as he didnt pay off the finance.

A question about : Careers Devolpment Loan

I took out a loan with Barclays about 8 years ago through a careers development loan and the company I paid the money to went bust and took my money but I still payied the loan back within a year because they said that I had to pay it back
The loan was for 3years and must of been protected by PPI could I claim that back

• Do you still have the paperwork? Does it mention PPI?
• Why MUST it have been protected by PPI?

By way of background, I took out a professional studies loan with HSBC in 2009 just prior to taking the CPE and LPC (enabling me to become a trainee solicitor, complete a two year training contract with a firm and qualify).

Theoretical question.... honestly ;-)

Let's say a friend of mine. A REALLY GOOD FRIEND OF MINE, applied for a personal loan with a big lender in mid-January and the funds were paid (c.Ј16k) in to that person's account a few days later. That money was promptly spent on what the loan was taken out for in the first place...

Ok. Now fast forward to today (Feb 20th) and no direct debit payment has been taken from my friend's account.
