A question about : Green deal: I must be very naпve ...

I paid for a green deal assessment today for my property and had a very strange appointment. I wonder if I am just a little naпve .

I had little confidence in the assessors ability to actually work out the energy efficiency of my house and his attitude was quite poor.

A question about : Solar Panels

Hi everyone, now I am going to seem like a real dunce here because I know nothing about solar panels but here goes.

Firstly, those that have solar panels has it really made enough savings for you to compensate for the cost of installation.

Secondly I live in a very exposed and windy area is it safe to put the panels on the roof.

Thirdly if the previous two answers are positive can anyone recommend an installer in the East Lincolnshire area.

If a basic home energy monitor (of the type sometimes given away free of charge by electricity suppliers) with a clamp-on line sensor is connected to a solar home, will the monitor register just the kW / kWh of electricity provided to the home or will it be confused by the quantity of electricity exported?

A question about : Repost: New boiler, old controls...

Evening all,

had a new boiler fitted 2 weeks ago, a WB 24Ri replacing an Ideal W2000.
New one is tiny compared to old beastie!

Anyways, we're still using the old heating controls - Potterton EP2000 and I'd like to replace it.
We also do not have a thermostat in the house, relying previously on boiler setting and trv's on all rads.

We want to be able to control CH and HW seperately.

Has anyone else had problems with the internet side of your PV monitoring? My unit works ok, with good connection however the totals on the EnergyNote site fails to add the daily totals so those figures are useless. I sent an email to them and this was the reply...

A question about : Energy ratings for tumble dryers

I having been trying to get my mind around published energy ratings. Are they really meaningful?

I have created a small table to look at the most expensive and the cheapest dryers in each category. We have the Indesit (highlighted in yellow). I have just bought a plug-in monitor to measure usage (which I adjudge to be very high, perhaps 21 cycles per week) over a time period. I know I am not going to change family behaviour to adopt other methods of drying.
