Storing a computer in a humid garden house

A question about : Storing a computer in a humid garden house

Hi,

After buying a new computer I want to put my old one (the tower) in my garden house which is very cold and humid.

I plan to wrap it in bin bag. Is that enough? Can't humidity still damage the motherboard and drives inside?

New Acer deleted files without prior warning on a external hard drive

A question about : New Acer deleted files without prior warning on a external hard drive

A bit of a cautionary tale to computer luddites like me when attempting to create a recovery back up disk upon setting up a new laptop.

I just bought my first laptop today, an acer aspire. We'd been struggling along with my husband's Dell for a while, but finally agreed I needed one of my own.

A question about : Uninstall hp 3050 desk jet printer

I have a hp 3050 desk jet printer and i cannot uninstall it .I have very limited knowledge of these thing and have tried the uninstall via my control panel but it is still there .I have looked on the HP web site and followed there instructions but without any luck.I found a uninstaller program but they wanted me to pay$20 for the privilege.

Solar Powered Garden Lighting Project

A question about : Solar Powered Garden Lighting Project

I have some led string lights in the garden and they dont illuminate for very long 3-5 hours (during last summer) I have changed the batteries for better quality/mah, but still not much better. I realise the solar panel is probably where the problem lies.

I have now obtained a 10w solar panel that was previously used to trickle charge a 12v car battery on a boat, so now I am thinking the same thing could be used to power the lights, I have a car battery in the shed that is still in good condition.

Adding a password/lock to restricted Nexus 7 profile

A question about : Adding a password/lock to restricted Nexus 7 profile

I'm struggling to find this on my tablet. The restricted user has already been set up so I'm trying to find out to add this to the profile so there is some kind of security to get in. The main profile has a lock but the res. user doesn't right now..

Im using Android 4.3. Help.

  • Did Android 4.3 allow multiple user accounts? I thought that was brought in with a later release?

Electrics Question

A question about : Electrics Question

I just bought a used Packard Bell monitor as I needed to use 2 monitors at the same time.

And the adaptor got way hotter than my usual monitor's power cable's adaptor. It also says LITEON as the manufacturer (the same as my laptop's charger), which makes me think it's supposed to be a laptop power cable.

Google images seems to back up this theory.

So if this is a laptop power lead, would it cause harm? It really is not just warm, but too hot to touch! - It does not feel safe.

My question is can I use it to make the back up and then transfer that from said harddrive to a memory stick later without any problems??
