Shake calcium fortified drinks before pouring

A question about : Shake calcium fortified drinks before pouring

In a recent US study, researchers found that the added calcium can settle in the bottom of the carton/bottle........forming a calcium sludge.

If the calcium is on the bottom of the container, you're not getting in your glass.......so shake the container immediately before pouring.

Best answers:

  • that's a good tip nile
all medications should be gently shaken [unless told otherwise] to give an even consistency of the medicine through the bottle

Raynauds

A question about : Raynauds

Where I work, the temperature rarely reaches 60f.My hands/fingers are blue and painful.Yesterday, the doc diagnosed Raynauds and told me to wear 2 pairs of gloves to prevent the pain.
At work,as a sales asst in a garage,I use heat-sensitive tills which I am sure will not work with gloves,so I doubt if I can continue with that post.
I will ask to see my manager to see if anything can be done, but does the company have to find me an alternate post?
Raising the temp to 16c (min I think) would not solve the glove problem.

Private v NHS

A question about : Private v NHS

I have just spent a year having tests only for my consultant to say he cannot diagnose my problem. He has therefore referred me to a consultant at another hospital who is (allegedly) specialising in my particular area. I am totally despondent to find out now that I basically have to start again as if the last year has never been. This means I face a five month wait to see the new consultant. I am probably going to need another scan and I had to wait nearly three months for the last one.

Giving up smoking

A question about : Giving up smoking

I've finally decided that enough's enough and, for both health and financial reasons, have decided to quit smoking.

I'm not using patches/electronic cigs or anything else and was hoping that anyone else who's been there/done that could give me some advice/encouragement/let me know at which stages I'm liable to be pulling my hair out etc.

Anyone else who's trying to give up, feel free to have a rant and a moan - I'm sure I'll be able to sympathise...

Which Juicer?

A question about : Which Juicer?

I would like to make vegetable juices at home and was wondering which Juicers others have used and liked. It will get regular use so a robust machine would be good. Prices vary hugely so personal recommendations would be great. Thank you!

Cateract Surgery

A question about : Cateract Surgery

title=Hello Hello. This is my first post after many years of just reading them.

I am a male in my mid 40s who has recently been diagnosed with a cataract in one eye that will need lens replacement. I also currently wear contact lens for short sightedness.

I can have my lens replaced by the NHS but the replacement lens is monofocal, which means it is a fixed distance and so I will need reading glasses.
