I'm no expert but i have been able to grow enough veg to feed us more or less all year. I've saved thousands doing this although admit i'm lucky enough to have an allotment and people don't always have this option.

Can we have a list from all the composters of all the things which are good to compost & all the things which are bad

For all those newbies to gardening (like me) if you haven't already got one, get a composter! I have had mine nearly a year and used it for the first time - it was proper compost!

I am officially turning into my mother getting excited about compost, I know.....

Greetings all, and a happy New Year.

Same as last year really, come and join in. No invitation needed.

Lessons learned from last year:

1. I really, really dislike a slug epidemic.
2. Kohl rabi is nice.
3. I'm not very good at growing leeks, and must try harder.

I got a bit lazy towards the end of last year, and a lot of time was taken up with my new-found hobby of cycling. Must try harder this year.
