A question about : i want to make compost!

Hi all,

I only have one flower bed in my garden, the soil is really heavy, and often water logged.
I want to start a compost bin to help. I've started collecting tea ,eggshells, veg scraps ,etc in a plastic tub for around a week...
what next?
I have an old plastic dustbin hanging about, no lid though,could I make use of this?
could I go about making it into a compost bin,if so,how? No money to buy one

So when to you make your 1st lawn cut of the year.

My lawn is growing like mad, but I think it is too cold to cut the lawn, or more cold weather is on the way.

So when do you start lawn cutting.

A question about : Seed Potato's or supermarket

Seed potatoes are very expensive. Last year I grew 4 chitted supermarket potatoes & got 4 buckets worth, this year I want to do the lot (20+ plants) with Supermarket brought potatoes. Any reason why not?

A question about : Greenhouses

I'm after buying a new greenhouse, does anyone have one with Polycarbonate instead of glass?
Are they any better/worse than glass?
I have moved to the midlands so it will be colder than in Devon from where moved from, so will they be ok at lower temps?
Just looking as they seem to be cheaper than glass

A question about : Any keen bird feeders out there?

Just wondered really. We started feeding the birds last winter after we lost one of our (keen hunter) cats. I was amazed at the number of variety of birds who started coming, really quite quickly.

We've seen several juveniles this spring and really looking forward to winter to see who visits again. I'm hoping the goldfinches come back as they were just beautiful to watch,

A question about : Which compost is good this year?

Has anyone used Ambassador?

Considering the multipurpose compost but can't find any reviews!
