Help MBE grow his dinner 2012

A question about : Help MBE grow his dinner 2012

title=Hello

Well, here we are again then. title=Big

Looking forward to a new season of grub fresh from the garden. I've just harvested the last potatoes, parsnips, beetroot and carrots, so once they're gone I might actually have to buy something. title=Stick

how to get rid of lots of ants nests in my lawn

A question about : how to get rid of lots of ants nests in my lawn

Just noticed lots of ants nests in my lawn and larvae/eggs at the surface

What is the cheapest and most effective way of getting rid of them? I have just boiled the kettle and poured on the nests, hoping this will burn the little buggars!!

Weed Killer

A question about : Weed Killer

This is something i have used myself and had excellent results.
For the use on paths, patios, round the edges of the house - you know them that grow practically up the wall of the house awkward to get at places.
The other thing about using this it also cleans the flags where the birds poop too.

featheredge boards for raised beds

A question about : featheredge boards for raised beds

Hi guys

Have decided that I am just gonna make some raised beds for my lottie

Reason for this is simple, I am fed up of digging only to step on the damn thing again!!

Now in the past I have made the odd raised bed from decking board but this seem s to have doubled in price since I last bought any.

So with the lack of to hand pallets and scaffolding boards I thought one of the most economic way would be to use some featheredge boards that you use for fencing.

Neighbour building hedge to form border

A question about : Neighbour building hedge to form border

I was wondering if there are any formal rules regarding the border itself. It seems the roots are going to be planted straight along the border, should the hedge not be further back so not to intrude?
