As I got such helpful advice and assistance last year, I'm kindly going to allow you lot to help me out again. Plus the thread keeps me motivated. I'm more likely to get off my butt and do something if I think people are watching.

A question about : the daydream fund challenge thread

ok i thought as there were quite a few of us with a similar sort of dream of owning a smallholding or a house with loads of land, i thought i would start a 'daydream' thread as a sort of challenge/incentive to keep the dream alive,

last year i started a thread on another forum i did feel a bit like a ninny to be honest as i know the prices of smallholdings etc have gone silly money, but as some of the other forum members said, you never know, and if you want something badly enough you will do/achieve it

A question about : Top soil Where to get some cheap or free?

This may not be the right place to ask this as I am a newbie but I am after some topsoil for our raised beds in the Brighton and Hove area. Does anybody know where I can get some free or cheap or any other recomendations so I can start planting as all our seed is growing rapidly in the greenhouse.

A question about : Cheap but good sonic cat repellent

Anyone know of any cheap ones? I have had a look for the catwatch one which seems to of had good reviews but they seem very pricey.

All the local cats use our garden as the toilet - not happy!

A question about : Show Us Your Veg Patch

Thought everyone would like to see our newly formed vegetable patch. Its only small but theres only 3 of us in the house so nothing bigger needed at the minute. It costs us about £50 to make and do including all the seeds and plants etc...

A question about : veg growing Newbies- Feb 2010! lets learn together!

There are rather a lot of us around at the moment who are newbies to veg growing - we shoudl all support each other!

I have only a roof terrace and everything is going to be done in pots and bags. Its really sunny up there (weather permitting!) I realy want to get into it, so I am going to try lots of different things!

I am going to try to grow my own potatoes, tomatoes, salad leaves and runner beans in pots and bags. I would welcome any advice or tips on the following.
