A question about : Aluminium foil- width

Not sure if this the right board........I bought some foil to-day and noticed there is no longer a narrow (12 inch) and wide (18 )inch choice. To be perfectly honest they are all in millimetres now but I can visualise inches better.
There is a new hybrid on the shelves and it measures 15 inches.

Now I used the narrow stuff for small things- sandwiches, covering a plate. The wider one I use for roasting mostly and lining the grill pan.

A question about : Buying chicken carcasses

I never seem to roast enough chicken to provide enough stock for all the soup that I make. What is the going rate for a chicken carcass from a butcher, and is it something butchers commonly will be likely to sell?

Anyway, I was thinking of making my own but only had Tea Tree Oil in the house, so tried that.

So, I filled a small spray bottle with tap water, added about 30 drops of tea tree oil and a few drops of food colouring, which is optional.

Wow! it works.

A question about : newly single mum

Hi,
My husband dropped the bombshell on Friday that he is a secret gambling addict and over the last few years he has amassed a huge amount of debt. So I have been suddenly plunged from being part of a relatively affluent small family to a single mum to a lovely young daughter, with no idea what the future holds, financial or otherwise.

I do work, but I am low income and have a long term chronic illness which affects me greatly, and means that I struggle with fatigue and pain, and don't have a lot of energy.

A question about : Can i store cooked rice (and quinoa) in the fridge?

I am hoping to save myself some time by making a big bowl of rice or quinoa and storing it in a bowl in the fridge, so that i can use it in my lunches during the week.

Is it safe to do this? Can i reheat it ok?

A question about : Baking cakes using less sugar -how do I go about it?

I would like to reduce my sugar intake.

One area that concerns me is that I am a keen baker of cakes.

Any pointers as to how to replace sugar in cakes?

A question about : cat's pee!

Any ideas on how to get rid of the stench of cat's pee on a carpet? I have tried carpet shampoo specially for this purpose - to no avail, vinegar & lemon in water, neat vinegar, and the pong is still there. Taking up the carpet is the very last resort as not only is it very firmly stuck down, but emptying the room - which is my office - would be a nightmare. All suggestions gratefully received!
