Advice re RNFPN endowment assurance

A question about : Advice re RNFPN endowment assurance

Hi In 1997 I took out a RNPFN (Royal National Pension Fund for Nurses) policy at Ј20 per month for 20 years. Although I am usually very good with ensuring my savings get the best rates, sadly this policy has been a tad forgotten about.
It ends 31st July 2017.
Surrender value as of today is 7,655.49 (this can go down as well as up and fluctuates daily)
Predicted amount given over the phone today if left to run.
low Ј8,310
high Ј9,370 no guarantees on these lows and highs.

Telewest

A question about : Telewest

Hi

I know there was a thread on this earlier but it didn't really answer the question I have. Here is the scenario, I have 15000 Telewest shares bought at 0.65p and I have now heard that their refinancing has been approved and they are considering listing on the NASDAQ and possibly merging with NTL. How does this affect the FTSE listing they currently have? Will they just be delisted or will they (fingers crossed) start to rise in London?

Thanks for all your help.

short term [6 months] saving to go travelling

A question about : short term [6 months] saving to go travelling

I am going away in a maximum of 6 months and need to open a different account (savings account) to my regular account. Not sure who gives a better deal because my money will only be in for a relatively short term and I won't have thousands of pounds in it.

I hope to put in about Ј400 a month and then a lump sum of about Ј1,000 when i've sold my car and paid off that debt.

Thanks for any advice; and thanks to 'the money diet' because its making me face up to my money fears!

A question about : Nationwide

Hi,
I have a few savings accounts with nationwide and have been thinking of moving them to try and get a better return. Before I move my money I was wondering in days past when carpet bagging was the rage, did Nationwide ever get merged etc.

A question about : Comparing Fixed Rate Savings Products

I Just wanted to start threads specifically for fixed rate savings products, and to have different treads for different terms [if that makes comparisons - and finding information easier?]

Today's offering is from Nationwide (available from tomorrow) and open to savings account/mortgage customers of at least 3 years standing

Provider: Nationwide Building Society

Re: ISA

A question about : Re: ISA

Under the current money laundering guidelines, that is the sort of thing that should be reported as benefit fraud is part of it now.

The minute your NI number is involved, you are just asking to be found out.

Mortgage V’s Savings 35k.

A question about : Mortgage V’s Savings 35k.

I have 35k in savings vs. a 105K mortgage.

The mortgage term is 19 years & 5.25% this is due to change to 4.5%.

Do I stick the 35k on the mortgage or stick it in the new Cahoots savings account?

Which product would I be better of with? I see no immediate need for the use of the money.

My monthly Salary should be sufficient for bills etc.

Sorry if this question has been asked before.
