A question about : Junior Isa

I have recently opened up a Halifax junior ftse tracker ISA for my youngest child.

I have just been told by Halifax that on top of the annual fee of 0.5% they are going to introduce a monthly fee. There is no apparent benefit to me. They are just going to take more money from the investment.

So I'm going to move the investment. I like the product and am interested in how I go about comparing the fees for this kind of product.

Any advice from the experts here would be amazing.

A question about : Can I set up a direct debit into NS&I 65+ savings for my Dad

I want to set up a direct debit to put about Ј100 into my fathers savings account. My mum has just passed away and I am dealing with my dads finances. Can I do it from my bank into his NS&I 65+ savings or is it better to just by some Premium Bonds each month?

A question about : Buying Euros

With the current exchange rate for the pound against the Euro we are considering purchasing Ј5,000.00 worth of Euros to use, over the next few months, when we visit Europe and places where the Euro is the currency.
Do members feel it would be best to do it now or do you feel that the rate will still get better and to hold off for a few more weeks?
Does anyone know some outlets where purchasing such a large amount of Euros would be better than just going to the post office.

A question about : charting interest rate rises – 1st Egg, 2nd Abbey

5.00% (including bonus) offered by Egg, effective 19th May (from 4.75%), announced 7th May

4.60% (incl. bonus) via Abbey – eSaver a/c, effective 1st June (from 4.35%), announced 10th May

Anyone here discovered other rate increases for savings a/c's? We know management of numerous banks & building societies read MSE forums. Let's encourage them to be completely competitive – not 'arf!

A question about : delisting: implications for shareholders?

Can anyone explain to me the implications for shareholders/prices if a company is to be delisted? I bought a few shares at a ludicrously low price as a bit of a punt (I'm happy to lose a few quid as part of the learning process - it's still a cheaper hobby than photography or girlfriends) but now it looks like the company might be delisted as part of a restructuring under a new CEO.

A question about : Advice on switching current accounts

Hi, My husband and I have a joint account with Santander. Would I be allowed to open a halifax current account in my name only and have my wages paid in there to get the Ј125 bonus or would we need to transfer the whole joint account?

Any advice would be appreciated.
