My wife has been offered what of the face of it seems a good deal by her employer under auto enrollment where she will pay in 8% of her salary and they would put in 16% of her salary into her pot.
She would come out of SP2 where she has built up quite a good second state pension My main concern is that as she only has 2 1/2 years until she retires the final pot will not be be very large so will she be better off opting out and staying in SP2????

Hi, previously i was offered to join my employers workplace pension scheme in which i naively, refused.

At the moment I am not part of any pension scheme, but i know i need to be.

So What now?

With this new government drive in the workplace pension, will this give me the second chance i need?

A question about : Large Employer/No Autoenrollment?

I'm just about to start work for a large private healthcare company as a nurse and thought there would be some kind of company pension scheme but it appears otherwise as my contract specifically says that there is no employer pension scheme and the employer pays no contributions, only that they will provide details of a stakeholder pension should I so wish.

I thought large companies had to auto enrol you into a company pension scheme and pay contributions from May 2013?

Firstly, my partner earns less than the criteria for AE, She earns around Ј6000 a year. She want to opt in. They have emailed her and asked her what she wants to pay in, e.g 1% 2% 3% etc...

Will all of the same conditions apply to her if she opts in as with the people who are Automatically Enrolled ... ?

What is the maximum someone can put in, and would the employer have to match this?

Actually asking on behalf of an irate work colleague who was too late to opt out of our company pension and now has been told he is unable to transfer his funds to his private pension.
Our company has told him that the 2 months monies he paid in which don't amount to a great deal can't be refunded back to him. So if his monies can't be transferred either I am assuming he has lost the money?
