  • Yes I would book, but would buy a package and think I would phone them up first (before booking) to confirm I get a refund and what my losses will be if my flight doesnt leave. I would assume you don't get things like credit card charges, speedy boarding and things like that refunded, and would ask that too, also any admin fees they may charge in the event of non flight.
  • thanks busiscoming i am going to phone before i book to ask all these questions.
hopefully it will die down before then but who knows lol
  • I do hope it will stop as I'm going to spain next month. Booked it 8 months in advance...
  • Yep, here's another one hoping to be in Spain at the end of June. Booked last year - no package.
  • I too have a holiday booked for spain for next month. Booked in october last year.
I did book a package holiday, but normally dont, so fingers crossed if it does get cancelled we will be ok.
  • I booked our summer holiday to the US. Ash cloud be damned.
Just annoyed I opted to purchase some of my currency before the election announcement (just in case the conversion tanked on news of a hung parliament), and in actual fact it's rallying now thanks to the Con/Lib alliance !! Oh well lol. Some you win, some you lose.
  • Well I am going to the Dominican end of July so fingers crossed. Booked it last July.
I would say book it but make sure it is a package.
  • samanthag let us know how you get on booking and what the company say.
BTW I heard a Thomson ad on the radio this morning which basically said: 'We wont leave you stranded etc etc' I thought right - good. Then the bit at the end says something about 'exclusions apply' So wonder what that means!!
  • i will let you know how i get on but now im undecided where to go
we are thinking about turkey now lol
im gonna phone thomsons soon so will post back x
  • I was in Thomsons at the weekend as we're hoping (still not booked) to go to Turkey around the 24th May.
Their advice was to book in the shop (although I suppose they would say that!) as it means you can contact them and not the general and busy customer services number.
Apparently the upgraded all stranded passengers and got them back as and when they could.
  • i have just spoken to thomsons and they have put my mind at rest so i am going ahead and booking it when hubby get home.

  • we are going to turkey and staying in calis beach really looking forward to it the hotel reviews are excellant xx
  • Just come back from Calis beach - staying at a friend's appt., we had flights cancelled in April due to ash cloud so rebooked as quickly as possible and just flew back on Fri (and in the nick of time!) It's fab, and weather was brilliant, everyone's so friendly, highly recommend it as a holiday destination for with or without kids. Have a great time!
