A question about : who is responsible?
Hi all,
I am having a loft conversion done that has just really started and was wondering if i were to get a bad leak into a current bedroom beneath the work, (for instance if it wasn't covered properly) is it my responsibility to repair it or the person doing the work as it's their job to cover it and surely make it water tight before they leave each day? Please help!! As there is a storm on the way......(
Thanks lilminx
Best answers:
- it's your builders responibility to make sure your house is secure & water tight, therefore any damage should be down to them (or their insurance co), however they can only protect it so far, so for example if you had a hurricain with 150 mph winds then they can hardly be blamed for any damage caused then
- Its clearly your builder's responsibility.
- definitely builders
