A question about : What is the best game you have ever played?

Hi,

Question's in the title! What is your most favourite game or the most enjoyable game you have played?

So to kick off: my one is Dark Souls 2 and the entire Dark Souls/Demon Souls series. They are the most hardest, most satisfying games that require genuine skill, patience and intuition to play. I cannot recommend it enough. I play it on PC but it is excellent on any platform.

Best answers:

  • Little Big Planet!
  • Bioshock by far!
  • My list -
    Knights of the old republic
    Super Mario World
Goldeneye (multiplayer with friends was amazing)
    The last of us
GTA: Vice City & San Andreas
    Mass Effect trilogy
No particular order there but they are all amazing games and I find it hard to pick just one as my favourite.
  • have to admit its hard to pick but...
current gen at the moment i would give it to either Lara Croft (PS4) or Destinty (again PS4) amd that's saying something as destiny hasn't even released yet!
all time... streets of rage 2 on the sega megadrive. spent half my childhood playing that haha
  • Strip Ludo.
Great fun & no need to worry overmuch if the electricity bill hadn't been paid.
  • BattleStar Galactica: The board game
-Great traitor mechanic / social interaction game

  • Shenmue on the dreamcast!
Best recent prob last of us, but no game will ever come close to Shenmue for me!
  • Fallout 3 - love the game, and I had a couple of mates at my job at the time who were into it and we'd chat about where we'd got to. Happy times.
  • I'm torn between either Heavy Rain, Metal Gear Solid 3, Deus Ex or Half-Life, each in their own way brilliant and just different ways of playing when compared to the other games at the time around.
  • In no particular order:
    Baldurs Gate 2,
    Skyrim,
    Dark Souls,
    World of Warcraft.
  • Tetris - Gameboy
  • Final Fantasy VII.
  • Seconding GoldenEye on the N64 (for multiplayer)
Alien Vs Predator. Good memories of using a serial cable to 'network' our uni house back in 2001 to play this game
I did get quite addicted to 'Black or White' for a while
  • Black and white was a superb game, as was FF7 and I have to add Max Payne for being something a little bit different.
I'm also quite enjoying Diablo 3 at the moment but it lacks the skill required to succeed at the likes of dark souls.
  • Planescape : Torment.
Graphics were average at best, but for an RPG storyline it was incredible.
  • Hard to say, really. Mass Effect 2 was probably one of the most fun experiences I've had with a game but it is flawed in so many ways. I absolutely loved my first playthrough of it though, enjoyed a second but after that the flaws become too apparent. It's the type of game I wish I could erase my memories of so I could experience it anew once again though.
Really enjoyed Red Dead Redemption and although technically speaking it isn't really the best of its series, GTA: Vice City was probably the most fun.
Quake II was lots of fun back in the day and I've enjoyed replaying it a few times since.
  • I think I got the most pleasure out of Outrun (arcade) and
Dungeon Master on my Atari ST/Amiga.
