A question about : Warwickshire/Coventry Wedding

Hi Guys
I'm getting married in Warwickshire/Coventry (I live in Rugby) and my and my OH are looking at ways of saving money. My parents have visions of grandure and a 3 course sit down meal, canapes, welcome drinks etc etc. My OH has visions of a village hall without all of those fancy things as he wants to do it as cheaply as possible.
I'm trying to find a happy medium to please him and to please my parents.
We've cut costs on cakes and flowers as mum is doing them, we are doing invites etc ourselves and bunting as decor will be done by us.
Does anyone know any venues that we could look at that wont charge the earth or would allow us to use our own caterers?
Any help/tips would be great
Thanks

  • I like the idea of having a cheap wedding I did many years ago. Going to one on Friday at registry office. No meal just a night do in a pub.Good luck. Nothing is provided like flowers for button holes not even invite cards.
  • I am having my wedding at the Golden Lion Easonhall. We are only having around 35 guests, so I don't think it would be suitable for large numbers, but we like the fact that it is licensed for the ceremony as well. Have a look at their website. They have a wedding co-ordinator who is very helpful. Close to Rugby, as well.
